Augusta, GA -- The GreenJackets (50-20, 28-23) powered their way past the Delmarva Shorebirds (34-33, 25-25) on Monday night with an 8-5 win. Starter Ben Snyder won his 14th game of the season and Mike McBryde powered the offense with two home runs and four RBIs. McBryde led off the sixth and seventh innings with solo home runs, his fifth and sixth home runs of the season. Augusta took an 8-4 lead into the ninth inning before the Shorebirds plated their final run off reliever David Newton to cut the lead to 8-5. Snyder (14-4) worked five innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits. The lefty walked three and walked four to become the third pitcher in the league to 14 wins. Augusta trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the second inning but plated four runs on four hits to take a 4-1 lead.
Local attorney will serve on committee

A settlement has been reached in a long and contentious legal battle over ownership of the Salt Lake Tribune, but no financial details were released.
